Gayle Castle has been a member of the Sycamore Community Schools Music Department since 1990. Gayle, a native of Marion Ohio, taught at St. Savior School prior to coming to Sycamore and holds a Bachelor of Music Education from Bowling Green University.
Gayle brings a wealth of experience to the Sycamore Orchestra Program having taught at the Wyoming Center for the Arts, Vision for the Arts Academy, BGSU Summer String Camp, Corryville Suzuki Project, NCYO Summer Suzuki Camp and the Harry Alexander Music Festival. Not only does Gayle have a passion for teaching strings she also is an inspiration to young conductors and devotes time to teaching the art of conducting to young musicians.
Gayle’s work with young string students has been recognized through appearances at OMEA Professional Conferences by groups under her direction. These include The Center for the Arts Premiere Orchestra in 2004 and 2007 and the Sycamore Advanced Strings in 2010. Gayle has also served as the Guest Conductor for the OMEA District II Junior High Honors Orchestra.
